Thank you for your suggestion. We are currently working on near the same feature which will filter rows in the main list for any view. This means that you will be able to hide rows which are not under some criteria. Currently we have already supported (in our test version of new Collection Studio 3.51) 8 criterias such as ‘Equal’, ‘Less’, ‘Greater’, ‘Empty’ and so on. Number of criterias in one filter will be unlimited, so you will be able to select items for example from “GDR 1945 – 1991 years” with all items from “FRG 1945 – 1991 years, quality = UNC” in one list.
If this feature doesn’t match all requirements for your view, please, let us know.

Filtration by various criteria is a nice idea, ideed. Personally, I would also like to be allowed just picking the items by myself and add them to a subfolder, as Jim suggested in another thread about subcollections. Simply dragging them to some kind of folders would be nice, or by righ clicking on them, to add them in various sub folders (lightboxes). However, the items should remain in the main collection too and just kind of linked to the ones in subfolders.
Filtration might do this job very well but as I see it, it is somehow restricted by the fact that you need some criteria to filter after. In many cases, the selection could be very personal and have no correspondent fields in the database. Also saving the results after filtration is important, if possible within the same .col file somehow...

Another veriant, how it is made in Ant Movie Catalog: every item has a checkbox in front of it. State of checkboxes is stored in file with collection. Every operation can be perfomed with current item or with checked items or with whole collection. This will be good for manipulations with large collections.

So, there are several ways to work with user defined set of items (collectibles or secondary items). Some of them are implemented, some are not and other just planned:
1. Current item (single selection) – implemented.
2. Selected items (multi selection) – planned as additional usability for virtual lists (drag-and-drop etc).
3. Filtered (selection by some criteria) – in progress
4. Virtual list via container (selection by user – our Lightboxes) - planned
5. Checked items – in discussion, suggested by Jim
6. Items in current statistics view– implemented (some sort of filtering, for example View “By country”); But with this tool we can’t run any plugin, just can make export (this is we will mark as “to be implemented”).
I think there is no need to check any items, isn’t it? It is absolutely the same as “virtual list”. And from another side, in my point of view it is user friendly to work with selection. And it is also friendly to work the whole list. The third possibility will confuse users, and of course will crush convenient user interface.
So we will have following abilities:
1. Work with single item anywhere;
2. Work with the whole collection;
3. Work with a group of collectibles (Lightboxes);
3. Work with collectibles fetched by statistics criteria;
4. Work with filtered items, either in whole collection or in Lightbox or in statistics view.

Hi Serge,
just curious... is the lightbox feature still on pending or it has been droped?

Hello!
Can anyone check Movienizer? I have been using it for a long time. One problem though, some movies are not showing up properly so i try to add them manually. I can find them easily on the IMDB database and I understand the link numbers from their site, but I want to add a movie just by that code? Please share if you do!
