Please can I request a system change so that users are able to insert a Primary Key field for each entry in a collection if they want the collection to use a Primary Key mechanism?

I basically need a Primary Key field which will hold a unique value per entry I insert.

Each time a new entry is entered into a collection the system will hopefully be able to automatically fill in the unique field.

If users would be able to set the pattern of the Primary Key, that would be fantastic.

For example per entry that I create in my collection, the Primary Key field would automatically insert something like:

FF01
FF02
FF03
FF04
FF05
FF06
FF07
……
……
……

And where the Alphabetic Characters appear at the front maybe this could be changeable in the Options menu so users can change it to what they would like.

For example in the Options menu you would have something like:-

To set a Primary Key please specify a character pattern that would pre-fix each Key : “………………”

Each Primary Key will use this character pattern immediately followed by numeric characters :

i.e. 01, 02, 03 ………

• Tick Boxes – (Yes / No)
• Drop-Down Lists that hold pre-defined data lists
• Ratings Fields (such as a Star Rating)
• Date Picker

Hi I have purchased a copy of the Collection Studio Software, however it crashes every time I try to import any XML, tab defined or common defined CSV files. Why does it crash???

I have even tried creating a few test entries, exporting them into CSV and XML files and then try to import them without changing anything and it still crashes.

Please help.

Hi all,

I am just wondering how easy would it be to change the style of CS in terms of the skin of the software. As CS currently has a Windows 95 / 98 style skin would it be possible to change this to an XP or even Vista style skin.

I think it would be nice for an individual users needs if we could possibly change the skin layout to feel in-line with more “modern” software.

Maybe something like this could be worked on in a later version of CS as I know something like this would take a lot of development time change over.

I have now got this sorted and have downloaded the latest version. I am not sure what the problem was before but hey-hoe.

I wish to try Collection Studio out and want to download version 3.55, however when I do download the application a message pops up and says the Installer within the file is corrupted. I have also tried to download the ZIP File but a message says the ZIP folder is either empty or invalid which I find strange.

I thought this may be occurring because I live in the UK or because I am using Windows Vista but I have also asked my friend who uses Windows XP on his computer and he is having the same problems.

I have checked my PC system for any viruses / faults and all seems to be fine. The files are also downloading correctly so I am unsure what the problem could be.

Please can somebody assist me on this as I am very keen to get started to use Collection Studio..
